The US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) tournament is one of the oldest and most prestigious hardcourt tennis competitions in the world. It is one of the most-watched annual tennis events that has been held since 1987 as a part of the US Open Tennis tournament. The tournament is played on outdoor hard courts and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, New York City, USA. The US Open Women’s Singles is played during a two-week period in late August and early September and has been chronologically the last of the four Grand Slam tournaments of the year since its inception in 1987. 

The tournament is organized by the United States Tennis Association, where the winners get a full-size replica of the event’s trophy engraved with her name. Chris Evert
Chris Evert has won six(6) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, and 1982, and is the most-winner (Jointly with Serena Williams) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. She was born on December 21, 1954, in Fort Lauderdale Florida USA, and is a right-handed (one-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, she has won 157 Women’s Singles titles including 18 major singles titles, where she has won 35 Women’s doubles titles as well. She was also included in the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1995, and she is often considered one of the greatest Tennis players of all time.

Serena Williams
Serena Williams has won six(6) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1999, 2002, 2008, 2012, 2013, and 2014, and is the most-winner (Jointly with Chris Evert) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. She was born on September 26, 1981, in Saginaw, Michigan USA, and is a right-handed (two-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, she has won 73 Women’s Singles titles including 23 Grand Slam singles titles, where she has won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles as well. She is the only player, male or female to achieve a Career Golden Slam in both Singles, and Doubles, and she is often considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

Steffi Graf
Steffi Graf has won five (5) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1988, 1989, 1993, 1995, and 1996, and is the second-most winner of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. She was born on June 14, 1969, in Mannheim, West Germany, and is a right-handed (One-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, she has won 107 Singles titles including 22 Major Single titles, where she has won 10 Grand Slam doubles titles as well. In 1988, she became the first tennis player to achieve the Golden Slam by winning all four major singles including the Olympic gold medal. Furthermore, she is the only player to date, male or female to have won each major tournament at least four times in her career.

Martina Navratilova
Martina Navratilova has won four (4) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1983, 1984, 1986, and 1987, and is the third-most winner of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. She was born on October 18, 1956, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and is a left-handed (One-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, she has won a record total of 167 Singles titles including 18 Major Single titles, where she has won 31 Grand Slam doubles titles and 10 Major Mixed doubles titles as well. In 2000 she was included in the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and she is often considered one of the greatest Tennis players of all time.

Margaret Court
Margaret Court won three (3) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1969, 1970, and 1973, and is the fourth-most winner (Jointly with Billie Jean King and Kim Clijsters) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. She was born on July 16, 1942, in Albury, Australia, and is a right-handed (One-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, Court has won 64 Major titles including 24 major singles titles, 19 Grand Slam Women’s doubles, and 21 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles in her career. Furthermore, she is one of the three players in tennis history to have won the “Grand Slam Boxed Set” which includes every Grand Slam title, Singles, doubles as well and mixed-doubles as well.

Billie Jean King
Billie Jean King won three (3) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1971, 1972, and 1974, and is the fourth-most winner (Jointly with Margaret Court, and Kim Clijsters) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. Billie was born on November 22, 1943, in Long Beach, California, USA, and is a right-handed (One-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, King won 39 major titles including 12 in singles, 16 in women’s doubles, and 11in mixed doubles as well. In 1987, she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and in 1990 she was also awarded the National Women’s Hall of Fame as well.

Kim Clijsters
Kim Clijsters won three (3) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 2005, 2009, and 2010, and is the fourth-most winner (Jointly with Margaret Court, and Billie Jean King) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era.  Clijsters was born on June 8, 1983, in Bilzen, Belgium, and is a right-handed (Two-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, Kim has won six major titles including four Singles titles and two doubles titles as well. Furthermore, in 2017 she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, and she is often considered one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

Venus Williams
Venus Williams has won two (2) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 2000, and 2001, and is the fifth-most winner (Jointly with Justine Henin, Naomi Osaka, Tracy Austin, and Monika Seles) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. Venus was born on June 17, 1980, in Lynwood, California, USA, and is a right-handed (Two-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, Venus has won 49 Singles titles in her career including 7 Grand Slam Singles titles (Five at the Wimbledon and two at the US Open). Furthermore, Venus has won 14 Women’s doubles Major titles in her career, all partnering with her sister Sarena Williams.  

Justine Henin
Justine Henin has won two (2) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 2003, and 2007, and is the fifth-most winner (Jointly with Venus Williams, Naomi Osaka, Tracy Austin, and Monika Seles) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. Henin was born on June 17, 1982, in Liege, Belgium, and is a right-handed (One-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, Justine has won 43 Singles titles in her career including 7 Grand Slam Singles titles four French Open titles in 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2007, two US Open titles in 2003, and 2007, where she won one Australian Open title in 2004. Furthermore, she is one of the few female players to use a single-handed backhand and is often considered one of the greatest players of all time.

Naomi Osaka
Naomi Osaka has won two (2) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 2018, and 2020, and is the fifth-most winner (Jointly with Venus Williams, Justine Henin,, Tracy Austin, and Monika Seles) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. Naomi was born on October 16, 1997, in Chuo-Ku, Osaka, Japan, and is a right-handed (Two-handed backhand) player. Along with numerous records, Naomi is the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in Women's Singles, where she is a four-time Grand Slam Champion including two Australian Open in 2019, and 2021, and two times US Open Champions in 2018, and 2020.

Monika Seles
Monika Seles has won two (2) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1991, and 1992, and is the fifth-most winner (Jointly with Venus Williams, Justine Henin, Tracy Austin, and Naomi Osaka) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era.  Along with numerous records, Seles has won 53 Singles titles in her career including 10 Major titles including four Australian Open titles in 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1996, where she won three French Open in 1990, 1991, and 1992, and one Wimbledon title in 1992. Furthermore, in 2009 she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame as well.

Tracy Austin
Tracy Austin has won two (2) US Open Women’s Singles (Tennis) titles in 1979, and 1981, and is the fifth-most winner (Jointly with Venus Williams, Justine Henin, Monica Seles, and Naomi Osaka) of the US Open Women’s Singles in the Open Era. Along with numerous records, Tracy has won 30 Singles titles in her career including 3 Major titles which include two US Open titles in 1979, and 1981, where she won one Wimbledon mixed doubles title in 1980. Furthermore, in 1992 at the age of 29, she was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (Youngest), where she remains the youngest to win the US Open Women’s singles as well.
