In 2002, Serena won the first Wimbledon Open women’s singles tennis title at the Wimbledon Open championships played on grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, in the United Kingdom.  In the 2002 Wimbledon Open (116th Edition and the third Grand Slam Tennis event of the year) women’s singles final, Serena defeated the two-time defending champion, her sister Venus Williams by  7-6(7-4), and 6-3 sets and became the champions of the women’s singles at the Wimbledon Open. In 1999, Serena won the first US Open women’s singles title at the US Open championships In the 1999 US Open Women’s singles final (119th Edition of the US Open Championship) she defeated Martina Hingis (Switzerland) by 6-3, and 7-6(7-4) sets and became the champion of the US Open Women’s Singles championship.
