The women’s T20 Cricket World Cup is Cricket's newest world championship which began in 2009, two years after the Men's t20 Cricket World Cup. It is the Women's biggest t20 Cricket Competition and has been held every two years under ICC (Cricket's international governing body). Qualification for the Women’s t20 Cricket World Cup is through the ICC Women's Championships and the World Cup qualifier, where only eight teams can participate in the World Cup. But since the 2014 edition(held in Bangladesh), this number has been increased to ten participants, where 12  teams will participate in the 2026 Women's t20 World Cup, which will be held in England.

The eight Women’s t20 Cricket World Cups played to date have been held in seven countries, where the West Indies have hosted the event twice. England won one (1) ICC Women's t20 Cricket World Cup in 2009 and is the only second team along with the West Indies and Australia that has won the Women's t20 Cricket World Cup to date. England won the Women's t20 Cricket World Cup in 2009, which was the inaugural edition of the Women's t20 Cricket World Cup, and held in England from 11 June to 21 June 2009.

In the 2010 Women's t20 Cricket World Cup final, Australia defeated New Zealand by 3 runs and won the Women's T20 World Cup for the first time. Where is the 2024 women's t20 world cup?

Bangladesh will host the 9th edition of the 2024 ICC Women's t20 Cricket World Cup. The 2024 ICC Women’s t20 Cricket World Cup will be Bangladesh's second Women’s t20 Cricket World Cup hosting, where they hosted the Women's t20 World Cup once in 2014, which was the fourth edition of the Women's t20 Cricket World Cup. 

By hosting the 2024 ICC Women's T20 Cricket World Cup, Bangladesh will become the second country after the West Indies to host the Women's T20 Cricket World Cup for the second time. Ten teams will participate in the 2024 ICC Women's t20 Cricket World Cup, and there are going to be 23 matches including the semi-finals, and the final.

Where is the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup?

England will host the 10th edition of the 2026 ICC Women's t20 Cricket World Cup. The 2026 ICC Women’s t20 Cricket World Cup will be England's second Women’s t20 Cricket World Cup hosting, where they hosted the Women's t20 World Cup once in 2009, which was the inaugural Women's t20 Cricket World Cup.

By hosting the 2026 ICC Women's t20 Cricket World Cup England will be the third country after West Indies and Bangladesh to host the Women's t20 Cricket World Cups for the second time. Twelve teams will participate in the 2026 ICC Women's Twenty20 Cricket World Cup, an extension of the 2024 Women's T20 Cricket World Cup.
